MOTIVATION - COMMUNITY - TRAINING PLANS - SUMMER BBQ - AWESOMENESS
Are you looking for motivation and community during the stay-at-home order? Are you looking to run a 5K or 10K, but don’t know where to start? Train with us on Wednesday evenings starting Wednesday, May 20. We will start virtually, and as soon as groups can gather, we’ll meet-up in the Bellevue/Redmond area at a safe public location.
This program is packed with everything you need to make your 5K or 10K a success. Runners of any level can join us for the comradery of training together, virtually at first and in-person as the government allows. We’ll have educational sessions from local experts on nutrition, strength training, stretching, injury prevention, hydration, footwear selection and more!
How this works: Starting on Wednesday, May 20 at 6 PM we’ll have short, 30 min, Zoom-based meetups. Those meet-ups will include talking though the weekly workouts, hearing a talk from a local expert, such as a physical therapist or a sport medicine professional, and checking in with one another for support. We’ll use the RaceMenu RaceDay tracking app to submit our weekly workouts and we’ll post pictures and motivation on the Coach Dude’s Wonderful World or Running Facebook page. In addition, we’ll post suggested strength training and stretching with LIVE sessions at 7:00 on Monday mornings to start your week off on the right foot!
The program offers weekly training programs covering four levels:
Beginner: A couch-to-5k walk to run program for beginners or participants who have not run much recently.
Beginner Plus: A walk to run program for participants who want to move a long a little faster. You must be able to run/job five minutes without walking.
Let Me Run: A program for participants who can already run two to three miles (or more) and are looking for extra advice, coaching and group camaraderie.
Give Me Speed: A running program that includes speed workouts and other challenges for the intermediate and advanced runner.
Or join use because you are seeking a community of runners.
Dates: Summer Session starts Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at 6 pm – don’t be late!
Location: Wherever you are!
Final Race: We'll run a 5K together at the end of the program on August 8 at Coach Dude’s Annual Wine County 5K & BBQ, provided we are able to gather in large groups. Otherwise, we will run a virtual 5K on the same date. Or of course, you can run a live or virtual 5K of your choice, but a common group goal makes it all the more fun!
